Our Shop inside the Heritage Centre
The Heritage Centre building includes a retail shop which is open whenever the Heritage Centre is open: normally 11am to 4pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, until close of business on Saturday 16th December 2023. After that comes our winter break, and we will re-open in early February..
Even on days/times when our premises are closed, you can still order some products via our "Online Shop" screen.
===========================================
Whether you approach our shop from the “top” Princess Street (at the end of Heritage Way), or from the “bottom” King Street (hidden away up a narrow alleyway) you will discover not only our exhibition room and tapestry gallery but also our gift shop. Look out for signs directing you from either street.
The shop stocks a wide variety of gift items and souvenirs, many with a Knutsford theme. There is a wide range of items linked to the Knutsford Millennium Tapestry, including a Tapestry Book which tells the story of this millennium community project. It is full of colour photos and records the names of all the 3,000+ people involved.
We also have a selection of specialist ‘Knutsford’ books, Elizabeth Gaskell books and tea-towels, along with postcards, mugs, fridge magnets, book marks and other items celebrating Cheshire’s rich heritage.
Three more reasons to visit our shop:
- See our full range of items available for purchase, only a few of which are available through our online shop
- Chat to our helpful and knowledgeable staff about Knutsford’s rich history
- Visit our exhibitions and view the unique Knutsford tapestry
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR CHRISTMAS 2023:
Our 2023 Christmas merchandise is now in stock. Before you reach the shop, a beautiful Christmas tree welcomes you, with more decorations to be discovered in our courtyard gardens.
Then come into the shop for some exciting Christmas gifts, including scented candles made exclusively for the Heritage Centre, reindeer-themed tree decorations and local Christmas cards.
You can buy a booklet showing how Elizabeth Gaskell and her family celebrated Christmas.
Away from the shop, please visit our stall during the town's Christmas market, on Saturday December 2nd, to sample our spiced apple juice, or to try your luck at our "Name the Reindeer" competition.
Our "Online Shop" never closes, so we will continue to process orders (for literature only) placed via our "Online Shop" screen.
A small selection of our printed publications are available from our Online Shop.
