Jenny Collis

Why do I volunteer?

Apart from the feeling of doing something very worthwhile in preserving Knutsford’s fascinating history, and making lots of new friends, the main reasons I volunteered are twofold.

Firstly, I have an insatiable thirst for finding out everything I can about the town I was born in – its history, buildings and people.  Secondly, I want to share those findings with anyone who has an interest in learning more about Knutsford.

Collectively, the Knutsford Heritage Centre volunteers have an enormous wealth of local information at their fingertips.  I am proud to be part of this group of volunteers and, as well as working in the shop, I am delighted to be able to add my research to their collections.

I love Knutsford!
