Workshops

See below for a brief outline of the workshops currently available.

  • Community Artists (Full day or Half day)

Curriculum matches: Citizenship, Art, Design Technology
Key Stages 3 and 4.

The Knutsford Millennium Tapestry will provide the inspiration for a creatively challenging workshop around the concept of community and public art. Pupils will consider the social and aesthetic importance of public art using local examples as their focus. They will then be required to create their own original piece of art that celebrates Knutsford’s / their school’s unique identity.

  • History Hunters (Half day)

Curriculum matches: Citizenship, History, literacy
Key Stages 1 and 2

Uncover the mysteries of Knutsford through the objects and relics that history has left behind. Pupils will look at items covering a 1000 year history from the Domesday Book of 1086 to the Knutsford Millennium Tapestry. Through hands-on exploration and group discussion, pupils can create a picture of Knutsford’s history by making and using their own time-line.
